We spent a family weekend in Curlew and Merlin cottages and had a lovely relaxing time, of all the holiday cottages we have stayed in these were the most comfortable and well equipped by a long way.We explored the area and a short distance away ,walked on the beach at Druridge Bay which is spectacular, and shopped in the lovely town of Morpeth. The cottages are set in beautiful country setting and each morning looked out to see Pheasants out in the field and horses being excersised and lots of walks close by. There is a swimming pool and Gym and games room to cater for all needs.Highly recommend a stay here. |

We came to Beacon Hill and Oak Cottage on the advice of friens who have been coming to Beacon Hill for years. We are always very wary of recommendations as we have been surprised, and often disappointed, when following friends suggestions. Well this is one suggestion we wish we had followed years ago! From the moment we walked in the door we realised we were in the right place. The cottage is superb and the design, the fabrics, the pictures and lamps, were so stylish, it could have featured in Homes and Gardens. We were so comfortable in the cottage and slept so well that we totally relaxed and in the end we did very little but walk around the estate (which is glorious) shop and mooch around Morpeth and spend time in the Spa, which is also superb. We have never spent less money whilst on holiday. Thanks Alan for a really special holiday. Jan and Hugh. |

By general consent this was the best self catering holiday any of us has ever had, and we have experienced a few over the years. A true test was the fact that we chose to spend much of our time around the cottages and the spa and failed to actually do a lot of what we had originally discussed and planned. That goes for the whole of our group with an age span of 1 to 70(it was a significant, if belated, birthday celebration). The sausage sizzle was memorable for the children, we finished in complete darkness. The cottages were great, very well equipped, the vase of flowers a particularly nice touch; we wanted for nothing. The diarised comments of previous residents were useful when arranging trips out for lunch and we would mention The Country Barn at Widdrington as being really good if you are visiting Druridge Bay. What a magnficient beach in the winter or the summer, we loved it even at the end of October in the rain. There was just so much to do locally without spending a lot of time driving. I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to say thank you before I left; I had to get three of the family off to an early train. Many thanks, we shall endeavour to come back. Best Wishes for the future David Reed |

What a gem of a find. From the moment we arrived and were shown around on a golf cart we were hooked. Here we slowed the pace of things down and just enjoyed the beautiful countryside and company. We loved the pool, having it to ourselves most times we used it. A morning spent gathering wood for our sausage sizzle meant our kids were kept busy and enjoyed lots of fresh air. A girls shopping trip to Morpeth was a big hit with my 5 year old who fell in love with the Toy Dept in TC Jones, crammed to the ceiling with great toys. Drumridge Beach a short drive away and golden sands. To be honest we can't believe how quickly our week went by. All feel the benefit of our holiday here and we will be back! Only thing is we'll book earlier to get a bigger cottage. |

We have just come home from the best weeks holiday I have ever had in England. The weather was perfection for the whole week. The cottage, Beacon Hill Cottage, had a huge south facing garden room with glorious views. The sun shon into this wonderful room all day. We were with another couple we often holiday with abroad and we had to work on them to come to Beacon Hill (this is our firth visit) They were totally sold on the holiday. They loved the estate, especially the Megs Lake which is fantastic and they also loved the 40 acre wood. We had a sausage sizzle one night which is really set up for children with their parents. It was great fun and the view through the trees across the fields was wonderful. Thanks Alan for a wonderful holiday. |
