Castles and Gardens of Northumberland

We are especially fortunate with our location in Northumberland because of the range and quality of the castles, gardens and stately homes that we have available for our guests visit.

Many guests, when on a self catering holiday in a Northumbrian holiday cottage, enjoy visiting our castles, gardens and stately homes.

Among my favourites are Wallington, Bide a Wee and Belsay. Visitors love Cragside, along with Wallington, one of the two major National Trust Houses near to Beacon Hill. Explore and find your own favourite!

A great way to see unusual gardens is to visit private gardens that open through the National Garden Scheme. These invariably open on a Sunday, are often gardens that only open once a year and one can usually get a cup of tea.
