Exploring Northumberland The second largest county in England, and one of the least populated, Northumberland with its spectacular, unspoilt countryside offers a wealth of opportunities for both the first time and regular visitor. Positioned as it is on a border that has been fought over for many centuries, there is much of historical interest in the area. Here are just some examples:
Northumberland is a haven for walkers and ramblers, whether tackling a challenging walk across the fells or a pleasant
stroll in the countryside or along the coast. Highlights include Northumberland National Park and
Kielder Park and Forest. Details of walks in Northumberland can be found at www.shepherdswalks.co.uk.
We provide each of the cottages with a large amount of tourist information and maintain a typewritten file of additional information drawn from our own personal experiences and the comments of our guests. Further information about Northumberland can be found at www.northumberland-holidays.co.uk. All images on this page are courtesy of Northumberland Tourist © Jeffrey Beazley. |
