BEACON HILL FARM

The Harry Potter Trail

The Harry Potter Trail

Alnwick Castle was used to film some of the Harry Potter films and lots of clients enjoy visiting the Castle and recognising things that they have seen in the films.

We have set up a wonderful Harry Potter trail in our 20 acre mature Beechwood. This semi-ancient woodland has stunning southerly views and forms a wonderful natural playground for children and adults alike.

Attached to 20 of the largest beech trees, on a plastic label, is the name of a character from the Harry Potter series – there is also a random number. Clue sheets are available in the games room and the first family to complete the Harry Potter challenge every week wins a bottle of wine, some Smarties and lollies. Everyone that completes it gets Smarties and lollies!

The Harry Potter Trail has proved to be massively popular, with some families doing it year after year. What it does is gives an excuse to get children to spend a couple of hours in a stunning wood with the added fun of finding the clues. They love it!

Often families follow this adventure by cooking sausages on one of the two fire pits we have created in the woods – all utensils are provided!
These natural pursuits have given guests some of the best times whilst staying here – and all at no cost whatsoever!
