Near Alnwick and Morpeth in Northumberland, South Granary is a luxury self catering holiday cottage for a family or group of six. Converted from an original farm barn to a luxury holiday cottage, it is full of character and offers commanding views of Northumberland to the west from the sitting room. It is located in a lawned, south-facing, sheltered courtyard with tables and chairs outside.
The house is upside down with the sitting room, kitchen with dining area and bathroom upstairs.
The sitting room has over 50 feet of books and, as in all the cottages, there is a DVD, CD radio and iPod docking station. Sunshine pours into this lovely room in the morning and afternoon through windows with views into Beacon Hill Wood to the east and extending for 40 miles to the west. A wood-burning fire completes the picture.
The kitchen has a contemporary feel with granite worktops and an alcove dining table. There are two fridges, a freezer, microwave, washer dryer and dishwasher, as well as a fan-assisted oven, microwave and hob. The kitchen window has views into Beacon Hill Wood.
The upstairs bathroom has a power shower, bidet, wc and wash basin.
On the ground floor, the hall opens into a double bedroom with a king-size bed and a lovely western view, two twin bedrooms, and a family bathroom with a bath, wc and basin.
South Granary has been awarded a very high 4 Stars Gold by Visit England.
